1996 Van Lanschot Bank: Corporate Finance and Performance
In 1996, a first major deal was signed with Van Lanschot Bankiers (sector ‘Business Market’). This Dutch Bank obtained the right to make commercial use of a ‘Business Performance Scan’, a ‘Financial Performance Scan’ and the ‘Brus Strategic Decision Model’.
The two scans were used by the bank’s consultants under the name ‘Corporate Financial Scan’ when advising their corporate clients (the larger small and medium-sized enterprises).
In 1999, the Bank went public. The importance of its business consulting activities and the scans was highlighted in a text in its prospectus.
In this business segment, Van Lanschot focuses on integrated advice, using, among other things, the ‘Corporate Financial Scan’. This scan examines a company’s financing structure, payments, and risk and cash management, and provides targeted advice.
In the top end of the corporate market, the emphasis is on offering specialist services in areas such as treasury and risk management, corporate finance, issues and syndication.

The combination of knowledge of the advisor and the use of the scan modules proves to be a very successful concept.
An important element of the Corporate Financial Scan is the methodology, in particular because it quickly shows the strengths and weaknesses of the company as a whole.
This enables the Van Lanschot Bankers consultant to work from the cause to solve the problem.
